Jane Heeney

Communications and Engagement Officer

Jane has been the Communications and Engagement Officer for TransCoastal Adaptations since 2022, and supports TCA’s community engagement, education, and outreach efforts. Jane moved to Halifax to complete her Bachelor’s in Marine Biology, and fell in love with the wild and dynamic Atlantic coast. She has since completed a Graduate Diploma in Remote Sensing, and has recently returned to begin her Master’s at Saint Mary’s University.

Jane works largely on the Green Shores project, promoting shoreline training and education opportunities, and on the Making Room for Wetlands project, engaging with local dykeland communities. Her thesis focuses on the effects of feral horse activity on the dune dynamics of Sable Island.
