Are you interested in learning how you can implement nature-based solutions on your own shores? The Green Shores program offers solutions for shoreline property owners, managers, and anyone interested in shoreline ecosystem protection to address issues like shoreline erosion, sea level rise and climate change.
We are partnering with the Kingsburg Coastal Conservancy (KCC) to provide Level 1 training session on May 18th (9am-4pm) hosted at the Riverport Community Centre! This one-day course introduces basic shoreline ecosystem principles and the rationale, benefits, and application of the Green Shores Program.
This training is FREE, for residents of the following areas:
Pictou County
West Hants Regional Municipality
Barrington Municipality
Kespukwitk / Southwest Nova Scotia Priority Place
Halifax District 2 (Preston, Chezzetcook, Eastern Shore)
Halifax District 11 (Spryfield, Sambro Loop, Prospect Road)
Training will take place in person at the Riverport & District Community Centre from 9am to 4pm, with a practical field visit in the afternoon. All training materials will be provided. Accommodations are the responsibility of the participants. Lunch will be provided by the KCC.
