This webinar is applicable to coastal engineers, consultants, municipal staff, students, and anyone who would like to know more about the technical and hard aspects that may need to be integrated into Green Shores projects. The following two speakers will share examples of their work and talk about their experiences from projects in the Maritimes and British Columbia.

Amaury Camarena

Amaury Camarena is a Senior Coastal Engineer and Manager of the Coastal Science and Engineering Department at CBCL. With a wealth of expertise in coastal and offshore projects, his work primarily revolves around integrated coastal zone management, climate resilience, coastal flood risk assessment, design of coastal and harbour structures, and numerical modeling of coastal processes. Over the last decade, Mr. Camarena has managed numerous projects related to waves, hydrodynamics, morphology, coastal flooding, extreme events, hydraulic boundary conditions and design of coastal infrastructure including nature-based solutions, and traditional engineering solutions.

Northwest Hydraulic Consultants
As a senior coastal engineer, Grant is a project manager and discipline lead for a variety of projects ranging from large marina developments to small shoreline restoration. Grant’s professional specialties include shoreline assessments, erosion control and mitigation, beach nourishment, and adaptation to sea level rise.
